This tutorial explains how to use Floor Plan Creator. This application lets you create and share floor plans. It consists of three views: list of plans, plan view and 3d tour view.
Shows all your plans. Newest plans are on top.
You can create as many plans as you need. Please support development of this application: there's a button to donate and disable ads on the list of plans.
Uninstalling Floor Plan Creator removes your plans. If you want to backup your data use Cloud storage or export native Floor Plan Creator project files.
Please note that making copy of FloorPlanCreator directory is not enough to backup your data.
Cloud storage synchronizes your plans with the server. It can be used as a backup solution and also to share plans with other devices you own.
Long press on a project on the list to display a list of available actions: Delete, Change title, Create duplicate, Report problem, and Share project file.

There are two modes of operation: S-Pen mode, and Finger mode. In S-Pen mode you drag and zoom the view with fingers. S-Pen is used to edit the plan.
In Finger mode there is no distinction between touch and S-Pen. By default finger input is enabled - you can change it in application settings.
You can also use a mouse to edit plans. Mouse wheel is supported for devices with Android 3.0 and up.
Application supports both imperial and metric unit systems. You can select it application settings.
Set visible area by dragging the view with a finger. To zoom use pinch-to-zoom gesture.
On the right hand side of the screen there is a list of all available structural elements and symbols. Objects are divided into categories - change category by tapping icon above the list.
You can drag the list to the right to hide it. When it is hidden, click the button in the bottom right corner of the editor area to show it again.
To add a room or symbol, touch it and drag on your project.
To edit an element you have to select it with a single tap. Selected items are highlighted (green) and have icons showing possible operations: resize or rotate. To move the selected element touch anywhere inside it and drag it.
Toolbar shows a list of possible operations for the selected element.
Top bar shows properties of the selected element: name and size. Click the last icon to edit additional object properties.
To go back to the list of projects view, click back button of your device. Your project will be saved automatically.
For each room of your property insert a new room object from the toolbar. Room can be modified by moving its walls and corners. Tap interior edge of a wall to select it and then click Corner icon in the toolbar to insert a new corner.
It is also possible to draw custom room shape with S-Pen or finger. Tap "Walls" icon and draw shape of the room. When drawing inside existing rooms internal walls will be created. Drag "Walls" icon on a plan to insert a single interior wall.
If possible, do not use interior walls to create rooms - use separate room objects instead. That will let you move individual rooms, clone them, delete, rotate, mirror, set their floor color, calculate floor and wall area.
To create balcony, tap existing room to select it and click Balcony icon in the toolbar.
Straight stairs and landings can be combined to form any staircase. When two stairs objects touch, application joins them. Appended stairs are also automatically moved to a correct vertical position.
To move the whole staircase or set its height, group all its parts together. Click the first stairs, then click Group button in the toolbar and select remaining parts. Changing height of grouped stairs makes riser height consistent across the entire staircase.
Click Edit button for currently selected stairs to modify tread depth, headroom clearance, its height, vertical position and railing. Opening above stairs is automatically created based on headroom clearance value, but you can also use floor Void objects to insert additional floor openings.
For straight stairs, railing height can be selected to be measured from the top of the first step or from the bottom of the stairs object. The second option is useful when joining multiple stairs objects to form a complex staircase. It will make it easier to connect handrails when height of steps is different between flights of stairs.
You can group multiple symbols together. This can be useful when you want to move them together, rotate them, delete, clone, etc.
To define a group, tap a symbol or existing group and click the Group button in the toolbar. Click a symbol to add it to the group. Click it again to remove from the group.
During grouping, click Area button in the toolbar to mark multiple symbols. Drag from left to right to select all objects that are entirely enclosed in the selection rectangle. Drag from right to left to select all objects that are crossed by the selection rectangle.
Group color picker lists names of objects by default. Click object name to change its color. Object with the same same, will be modified together. To change object name, click it to select, click the "edit" button at the top of the screen and change "Custom name" field.
It is also possible to group colors by:
